ASM 2005 - Hobart

The 30th Australian & New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting on Intensive Care incorporating the 11th Australian & New Zealand Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Conference was held in Adelaide in 2005. This is a joint meeting of the the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society and Australian College of Critical Care Nurses.

Adelaide is a feast in every way. With its world-class extravaganza of cultural delights, fine food, great wine, a sense of history and the good life, together with festivals dotted throughout the year, Adelaide's title as the "Festival City" makes it a perfect location to celebrate the 30th ASM in 2005.

Come and join us in Adelaide as we mark the 30th anniversary of this prestigious Conference. The ASM has an in depth scientific program together with professional development opportunities, interspersed with the festive highlights of the social program. Celebrate with us on Friday night at the 30th Anniversary Party at Adelaide Oval followed by the Gala Dinner Masquerade Ball on Saturday evening.

The scientific program will provide state of the art lectures on subjects including sepsis, pharmacogenetics, ethics, acute lung injury, outcome prediction, life after ICU, hypothermia and brain injury in children, safe care outside the ICU and nursing workforce issues. Other highlights will be the "Year in Review", debates and "Meet the Expert" sessions on airway skills, dialysis, acute pain, statistics, non-invasive ventilation and intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation.
